How to reset XcubeNAS?

System Recovery

If the system has any issues due to the unexpected failure, the “ System Recovery” setting allows the system to clear all user configuration, and the system will be restored to factory default.

Reset to factory default

The XCubeNAS provides three methods below to reboot the system with faculty setting:

1. Reset network setting to factory default  : If you choose reset network setting to factory default and click  Reset Device  , your system configuration will result in:

2. Reset Admin PWD to "1234".

3. All networking set to "DHCP".

4. All data service ports set to the default setting (All data service enable and set to default port).

5. VLAN will be terminated.

6. Vswitch will be deleted.

7. Port trunking will be disabling.

8. After configs will be deleted, RESTART the NAS.

9. Log out QSAN Cloud.

10. DNS settings.

DDNS and UPNP settings.

< NOTE >

When system joined AD server, the DNS will not be reset.

 

Reset all setting to factory default  :

If you choose reset network setting to factory default and click  Reset Device  , your system configuration will result in:

1. All  settings.

2. System settings set to default.

3. All accounts, groups, folder permission, and ACL will be deleted.

4. All Access control lists will be deleted.

5. All backup tasks will be deleted.

6. All Cloud sync job will be deleted.

7. All VPN settings will be deleted.

8. Web server setting set to default.

9. AntiVirus setting will be deleted.

10. SQL settings are set to default.

11. Media Library index will be deleted.

12. After all configurations are deleted, RESTART the NAS.

 



Reset all settings and erase all contents  :

If you choose to reset all settings to factory default and click  Reset Device  , your system configuration will result in:


1. Include  (1)  and  (2)  .

2. Erase all contents.

3. After data and configurations are deleted, RESTART the NAS.

 

 

< NOTE >

If WORN folder exists, this option will be gray out, So you will not be able to initiate your XCubeNAS.

          

Pressing reset button


Press the button for 3 seconds and make a short turn beep sound (1 Sec), it will call the same function as “Reset network Setting”.

Press the button for 10 seconds and make a long turn beep sound (3 Secs), it will call the same function as “Reset all settings”.

What is different between the “Reset network Setting” and  “Reset all settings”? Please refer the details as above.
