How to use specific account for logging in CIFS shared folder on Windows?
 

Solution

Please follow below step to use specific account for logging in CIFS shared folder on Windows,

Step 1. Please make sure you set up the permission on shared folder for specific account.



Step 2. Please open the Windows command and use net use command to login CIFS share folder.
For example, XCubeNAS IP is 192.168.162.140
                                     User name is support
                                     Password is 4567
             You need to enter “net use /user:suppoer \\192.168.162.140\Test 4567 “ to login Test share folder



If you get error message as below, you need to enter “net use \\192.168.162.140 /del” to clear old password in Windows and try to net use command to login CIFS share folder again.


Step 3. Enter the NAS IP in Windows Explorer and you could see all the share folders in there.
