Why does the performance decrease when a controller fails?

Problem

Why does the performance decrease when a controller fails?

Solution

When one of the controllers fails, the Volume write policy would change to WT mode (write through cache) which means the I/O won’t be speeded up by memory cache. This behavior would avoid the system cache data losing when the remaining controller gets failed, too. That’s the reason why the performance decreases dramatically when one controller gets failed.
